Product Description

Structure and Composition

The disposable incision protector consists of an outer ring (PTFE), an insertion ring (PTFE) and a sleeve. The outer ring and insertion ring may contain internal wire coils. Type A features rings without internal wire coils, while Type B features rings with internal wire coils. Components are designed to undergo elastic deformation under longitudinal or radial stress and to recover elastically once the stress is released.

Contraindications

  • Do not use on patients with an abdominal wall thickness incompatible with the product specifications, to prevent the device from dislodging or rupturing.
  • Do not use if the surgical incision is too small, making placement difficult.
  • Do not use if there is a risk of sharp instruments damaging the outer ring, insertion ring or sleeve.
  • Do not use if defects are observed during the procedure, such as rings failing to deform or recover shape, detaching or breaking.
