Working Principle
The ultrasonic scalpel utilises the thermal effects, cavitation effects and high-frequency mechanical vibrations of ultrasound to alter the structure and state of biological tissues, performing cutting, separation and tissue destruction to achieve therapeutic goals.
Indications
Suitable for cutting soft tissue where bleeding control and minimal thermal injury are required; it can be used to seal blood vessels with diameters up to 3 mm.
Contraindications
- The device must not be used to cut bone.
- It must not be used for contraceptive tubal occlusion.
